Tell Gross Facts and Students Will Love it!

Getting students on your side in the first few minutes of the day is the best way to have a great day substitute teaching. Here are a few of my favourites to get you started!

1. Sharks pee through their skin.

2. Dung Beetles eat poo.

3. Female Tiger sharks have many babies in their womb when they are pregnant. The strongest one eats all the rest inside her womb and then it is born.

4. In South America, there is a cave with the most cockroaches ever found anywhere in the world. They never leave the cave. They eat bat feces.

5. Ancient Romans used mice brains as toothpaste.

(These facts and others found in “1001 Gross Facts” except #4 found on Planet Earth DVD)
