Dear Christian, do you know you are famous in heaven?

He writes down your life on a scroll.

Sins forgiven and erased.

The king talks about you all the time.

You picture is on his wall.

Your work is on his fridge.

He talks to the Father about you all the time.

The cloud of witnesses know you well.

They witness your life.

They are not the critical mom voice in your head.

They celebrate your victories every day.

The angels want to be assigned to you.

It is a privilege to be assigned to one who is a child of the king.

It is exciting to be the answers to royalty’s prayers.

It is a joy to move heaven when the king’s kids declare it.

In heaven, they know about that time…

When you did the right thing and it cost you.

When your friend dropped out of the race, but not you.

When you held on by a thread – for a long time!

This is the stuff of legends in heaven.

The most famous are those faithful to the end.

The hidden good revealed to all.

Your secret identity revealed – HERO!

You think you are not a hero?

Choosing right over wrong?

Even when nobody is watching?

Victorious in the end?

You are a legend.

Your story is known.

You are famous.

They are waiting for your autograph in heaven.

Things I tell the students

Sure, if you give me chocolate, we can have free time instead of Math.
To boys who are play fighting: No hugging in class!
To a girl and boy who are play fighting: No flirting in class!
You really shouldn’t hit him while I’m looking!
Please stop chewing the candy I gave you if the principal comes by.

Fundraising

I’ve been speaking to various pastors about speaking in their churches about Japan but haven’t actually spoken in a church yet. Here’s hoping there’s a rash of pastors calling me to say they’ve decided I can speak one Sunday! I’ve spoken in Bible studies and with individual sponsors though – so that’s good!

Supply Teaching

I’ve been working 4 days a week this trip instead of my usual 5 days a week. I’ve been teaching various grades and subjects. One kindergarten boy explained about all of his Lego creations. There was an energy source on top of his spaceship above where the captain sat but the captain didn’t use it – he had crew members who did that!

Visiting Friends and Family

Yes, I’ve been doing a lot of this and if I haven’t got to see you yet and you’d like to see me, let me know – and soon – I’m booking in June now! Just kidding – the end of May is also still free. I’ll be heading out to Ottawa the last weekend in May for beaver tails and to see if I can catch a glimpse of our Prime Minister (that doesn’t sound so exciting, eh?)

Prickle Man

I taught in a kindergarten class where one little boy was drawing a picture of a Superhero called Prickle Man. He had Prickles all over his body and shot the prickles at people. I asked how he hugged his mom and the little boy said he killed her when he hugged her. I asked if he was superhero or a villian and he said both – Prickle Man fights with anyone who comes to the door. I thought it sounded just a bit like some people!

Having Fun Visiting Friends

I’ve been having fun visiting friends in Canada. It’s so fun to see how much the children have grown since I saw them last (or meet some of them for the first time even though they are 5 yrs old!!). My friend was telling her Bible study how we met in university and said we’d known each other for almost 20 years! I almost had a heart attack!

I’ve been doing about 4 days a week of substitute teaching while I’m in Canada. One little boy asked if one of the pictures on my bookmark was me. It was a picture of Bruxy Cavey- a pastor with long hair and a beard!!
